Downtown Huntsville Lights Up With Tinsel Trail

If you’re looking to get into the holiday spirit, a stroll in downtown Huntsville may be just the thing.

Hundreds of decorated Christmas trees line the walking path at Big Spring Park this time every year for the Tinsel Trail. Businesses and organizations from medical companies and real estate agencies to manufacturing and government contractors have claimed a spot along the trail. You’ll find themed trees and displays decorated in all the holiday splendor that will brighten your night. You might also find a food truck or two, and ice skating is nearby at the Huntsville Museum of Art if you prefer more family fun after your tour.

Some of my favorite trees are the Toyota Santa sled powered by a v-6 reindeer, the Turner construction crane, the Angel Tree, the Friends of Rescue pet adoption tree, WAAY-TV (I worked here a long time ago), and of course, the huge Coca-Cola tree with me and my fur-baby Scarlet.

Here are a few more unique and whimsical displays that made my favorites list:

I hope you enjoyed the photos. I’ve included two videos below.

What are some of your favorites from this year’s Tinsel Trail?
