Hound & Harvest

A New Backyard Bistro In Huntsville

Looking for a new place to eat in Huntsville? I recently discovered the backyard bistro in Huntsville, Alabama called Hound & Harvest, and I love it! Diners can eat inside or outside on the patio or below in the courtyard. Best of all… it’s pet friendly. It’s located in a former quaint brick cottage-style house which is the perfect setting for a backyard bistro.

Picnic tables with umbrellas await customers with a grassy area for fur-babies. Yes, they welcome well-behaved dogs in the courtyard. The area is enclosed with a privacy fence that makes it all the cozier. The inside of the restaurant is decorated with cute, whimsical dog art. I was drawn to the “Starry Dog Night” painting.

The menu offers an array of healthy fresh foods using local sourced ingredients. Selections range from salads and bowls to sandwiches and tacos. Refreshing drinks, juices, smoothies, coffee and craft beer on tap are also on the menu. Me and my husband dined for the first time, and it was refreshing. We sat outside at a picnic table in the courtyard enjoying our food. I had the beet salad, which was delicious and full of arugula mixed greens, beets, baked apple, tomatoes, goat cheese and pecans. I also enjoyed a cool strawberry basil soda with my lunch. My husband opted for the Chilean Chicken Tacos. The menu changes so selections will vary depending on the season, but that means you can try different things.

Breakfast items include a Frittata Bake, Killer Cereal, Hot Tamale Supreme, Avocado Toast, Blueberry Maple Overnight Oats, muffins, scones and so much more.

I couldn’t resist the sweet treats, so we took home some blueberry muffins for breakfast the next day. They were delicious.

The bistro is located at the corner of Whitesburg and Bob Wallace. As of this post, they are only serving breakfast and lunch with plans to open for dinner.
